Pathways For Learning, Inc., headquartered in Charlotte, NC., is a pediatric occupational therapy practice and comprehensive learning center that has been helping children reach their full potential since 1998. There are 2 locations serving Charlotte in the Arboretum and University area. Both clinics offer the most up-to-date therapy practices with therapists and teachers who are highly trained and very experienced.  The team specializes specifically in the treatment of Sensory Processing Disorder, Dyspraxia, perceptual motor, oculomotor, handwriting difficulties, written expression, writing fluency, processing speed, and overall fine and gross motor development.

Pathways For Learning Products, Inc. began with the development of the patented Grotto Grip® in 2003. Since then, the company has continued to thrive now selling over 20 different products all of which were invented and/or officially endorsed by Toni Schulken MS OTR/L and designed & illustrated by Graham Schulken. The mission of Pathways For Learning Products is to help children, parents, teachers and therapists discover writing success™ through the development and distribution of patented and patent pending products, community education and research. All efforts are guided by the philosophy that handwriting and written expression are complex physical, emotional and cognitive tasks which have many underlying components that must be carefully considered and integrated into our products. The company strives to maintain consistency in product quality and presentation, and to make writing easier to teach and easier to learn™. Most importantly, Pathways For Learning Products are child-centered and are fun, engaging, age appropriate and promote self confidence with skill development.

Pathways For Learning, Inc. & Pathways for Learning Products, Inc. are both owned by Graham & Toni Schulken. Toni is a pediatric occupational therapist, inventor, president of both companies, a devoted wife and a proud mother of 5 children. She graduated from California State University, Northridge with a BA in Child Development: Mental Health Specialist Option in 1990. She earned her MS in Occupational Therapy: Pediatric Tract from Towson University in 1995. She is an expert in her field in the areas of handwriting, fine and perceptual motor treatment and sensory processing disorder. She has worked with thousands children in public and private schools, hospitals, private therapy clinics and in their homes. Toni is a published author in Dysphasia and Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology. She was awarded her first patent on June 21, 2005 for the Grotto Grip™. Toni speaks nationally to teachers, parents and occupational therapists on the subjects of sensory integration and handwriting. She also teaches occupational therapy continuing education courses in the area of screening, evaluating and treating handwriting deficits using a multi-sensory and perceptual motor approach. Toni is the early writing consultant to MeadWestvaco Consumer & Office Products for which she develops the products for their Writing Fundamentals by Mead® line. Most importantly, she has a passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential.

Graham S. Schulken is an art director, owner of Schulken Design, a freelance graphic design firm, and Creative Director for New Product Development, Pathways for Learning, Inc. and Pathways for Learning Products, Inc., a chief martial arts instructor, a devoted husband and a proud father of 5 children. Graham graduated from Winthrop University with a concentration in graphic design in 1994. He specializes in product development, illustration and corporate branding and has done design work for such companies as MeadWestvaco, Reebok, IBM, Time-Warner and the Coca-Cola Company. His work was published in several trade magazines and design books such as the Best invitation, Card and Announcement Design, Visual Merchandizing and Design Magazine and Print Magazine. Graham is a guest lecturer for Winthrop University and called upon to judge student's work for various awards. He is the recipient of the Excellence in Design, Regal Graphics and ARA Awards.
